word noren usually refers to split curtains hung in front of shops. They

KAKISHIBUZOME NOREN CURTAIN
KAKI (persimmon) SHIBU (tannin) ZOME (dye)
NR8037, NR8226 and NR822 7are made using kakishibu (persimmon tannin) which
has been used from the old days in making umbrella, baskets, wallets, pouches
and other everyday items for superior waterproof, insect-proof and anti-corrosion
properties. It has also been utilized as wood preservative. However, these
days kakishibu is receving attention for its artisict use rather than practical
use. The rustic and soft color seem to conjures up the image of the good
old country life.
